I remember mom bring them home from the store. That was
the good days of childhood. Hiding under the covers acting like I was in
space just like the spacemen.

too.
--Lincolnton, N.C.
Junk food?! In our recycling, alfalfa sprout, homemade
yogurt, Diet for a Small Planet household? I should say not! But Space
Food Sticks were for some reason allowed into our brown paper lunch bags
along with the misshapen, pock-marked organic apples. Their marketing as
a perfectly balanced food conned our well meaning Mom into including
them in our assiduously healthy pantry. We never would have breathed the
delicious secret, the knowledge that they were really, when it came down
to it, just plain CANDY!
--Wichita, KS
What a flash back! I used to love these things. All the
nutrition in one little stick. Haven't thought about them in YEARS!

around the house until I gave her the last bite.

I remember eating the carmel stick, thinking it was a
rare treat & pretending that I was walking on another planet. It was
a snack that wasn't filled with a lot of useless calories and sugar that
moms' approved of their kids eating. So they were a healthy, FUN snack
that promoted kids imaginations. Bring them back, PLEASE!!
--Hicksville,
NY

stepped out onto the moon.

Sitting under a pine tree with my brother, hidden from
sight we pretended that we were blasting off into space. Once our
"flight" was under way, we ate our space food sticks like real
